Cindy and I recently discovered Bassett Hound, one of Minneapolis's best kept holiday bars in North Loop, and we're excited to share what makes this holiday pop-up worth your time.
Holiday Cocktails at Bassett Hound
Looking for the best holiday drinks in Minneapolis? πΈβ¨ We visited Bassett Hound at North Loop Green to try their new holiday menu!
πΈExceptional Holiday Cocktails
The seasonal cocktail menu is thoughtfully crafted and impressive. Santa's Manhattan combines High West Holiday Dram Bourbon, sweet vermouth, and cocoa bitters for a sophisticated holiday classic. Mrs. Claus Holiday Nog is a standout, featuring Roknar Rya whiskey, Famille Dupont Calvados, and eggnog that work beautifully together.
For lighter options, try the Fireside Spritz (Tentura Antica, Prosecco, soda), Jack Frost Spritz (Dampfwerk Peppermint Schnapps, Prosecco, soda), or Grinch Spritz (Let There Be! Green Key Herbal Liqueur, Prosecco, soda). The Pumpkin Espresso Tini offers a rich alternative if you prefer something different.
Beyond the impressive cocktail menu, Bassett Hound also offers a solid selection of beer options. With multiple beer taps and plenty of canned drinks available, there's something for everyone, whether you're a cocktail person or prefer a cold beer.

πQuality Food & Atmosphere

The Crispy Chicken Wings are a standout, perfectly fried and coated in a bold blend of smoky BBQ and tangy Buffalo sauce. It's comfort food done right, especially paired with a holiday cocktail.

The Tequenos were a delightful discovery. These Venezuelan cheese pastries arrive golden and crispy, with melted cheese inside that adds richness and amazing flavor. They're an excellent shareable option and offer something unique beyond typical bar fare, making them a must-try when you visit.
The space strikes a nice balance between intimate and social. High-top tables and bar seating offer flexibility, while the thoughtful holiday dΓ©cor creates a genuinely festive atmosphere. The bartenders actually listen to what you like and nail their recommendations if you don't know what to order. They also have an outdoor patio with fire pits, bocce ball, and games, which are super ideal for groups. The menu also features a Pulled Pork Flatbread and Warm Bavarian Pretzel Sticks we're planning to try next.
