Boketto Steakhouse Date Night Review: Dark, Moody, and Absolutely Delivering in St. Louis Park

A Twin Cities Date Night Spot That Earns Every Star

St. Louis Park, Minnesota

Let's get into Boketto Steakhouse . Cindy and I had been hearing about this place for a while, and we were waiting for the right excuse to finally go. When we spotted their Guest Appreciation Menu popping up, a 3-course dinner for $45, that was all the push we needed. Safe to say Boketto just jumped straight to the top of our date night list.

@cindysimply This $45 dinner might be one of the best deals in Minnesota right now 👀✨ Finally tried the Guest Appreciation Menu at Boketto Steakhouse and everything from start to finish was so good. We started with their cocktail cart experience (they literally make your drinks tableside). Max got an old fashioned, I got the lychee martini, and the smoked presentation was unreal. The menu includes an app, entrée, and dessert for $45, and it was actually hard to choose because everything sounded delish. We did the crab cake + Caesar salad, seared tuna steak + roasted stuffed chicken, shared a filet, and finished with the chocolate & salted caramel lava cake. No misses. They also just added Gigli drinks to the menu and are now open Sundays, which makes it even easier to go. Definitely recommend trying this while it's still around. The Vibe: Dark, Moody, and Made for Date Night

Dark and moody interior of Boketto Steakhouse in St. Louis Park

Walking into Boketto, the first thing you notice is the atmosphere. It's dark, moody, and romantic in the best way possible. This is not your casual weeknight dinner spot. It's the kind of place where the lighting alone makes you feel like the evening is already going well. The whole room has a warm, intimate energy that hits the second you walk in.

If you're looking for a legit date night spot in the Twin Cities that feels like a real occasion without being stuffy about it, Boketto checks every box.

The Drinks: Espresso Martinis, Smoked Old Fashioneds, and Lychee Martinis

Before we even got to the food, the drinks had us locked in. We both went with the Espresso Martini and it was on point. A lot of places over sweeten their espresso martinis to the point where you can barely taste the coffee, but Boketto nailed the balance. It was smooth, it was rich, and it actually tasted like espresso. We were sold from the first sip, and the cinnamon on top was a huge plus.

Oh, and we didn't stop there on the drinks. I went with the Smoked Old Fashioned and Cindy grabbed the Lychee Martini. The Smoked Old Fashioned is an experience in itself. It comes out in a glass case with smoke swirling all around it, and that's not just for show. The smoke actually infuses into the drink and gives it this deep, smoky flavor that takes the whole thing to another level. I was not expecting to be as impressed as I was. If you're an Old Fashioned fan, this one is a must-order.

What We Ordered at Boketto

Caesar Salad: A Solid Start to the Night

Both of us started with the Caesar Salad, which did exactly what a good Caesar salad should do. It was fresh, well-dressed, and set the tone for what was coming next. Nothing flashy, just a clean, classic starter that got us excited for the main courses.

Roasted Stuffed Chicken: Max's Pick That Feels Like a Special Occasion Dish

I went with the Roasted Stuffed Chicken and I had no idea what to expect going in. Stuffed chicken can be hit or miss, but this was absolutely the former. It was rich and hearty in a way that felt genuinely indulgent without being heavy. The filling took the whole dish to another level. This is the kind of entree that makes you slow down and actually appreciate every bite. Solid 9/10 from me.

Seared Tuna Steak: Cindy's Call and a Good One

Seared tuna steak entree at Boketto Steakhouse St. Louis Park

Cindy went with the Seared Tuna Steak and she was impressed from the first bite. Bold, flavorful, with great seasoning and a texture that hit just right. This is not a timid dish. The kitchen is clearly on it when it comes to the fish, because the sear on this thing was spot on. Cindy kept going back to it and I was sneaking bites too (sorry, Cindy).

Full transparency though, Cindy gave it an 8/10 because it wasn't the most filling entree on its own. The flavor was absolutely there, but if you're someone who likes to leave a steakhouse feeling truly stuffed, just know the tuna runs a little on the lighter side.

Chocolate and Salted Caramel Lava Cake: The Perfect Finish

We closed out the night with the Chocolate and Salted Caramel Lava Cake and wow, what a way to end a meal. Warm, gooey, with that sweet and salty combo that just works every single time. After a rich main course, this dessert felt like the perfect landing. We cleaned the plate. That should tell you everything.

The Service at Boketto Steakhouse

This might've been one of the highlights of the whole night. The service at Boketto was exceptional. Our server was attentive and warm without being in your face about it, which is exactly the vibe you want during a date night dinner. The whole experience felt taken care of from start to finish, and that goes a long way.

Planning Your Visit to Boketto in St. Louis Park

  • 🚗
Getting there: Boketto is out in St. Louis Park, so if you're coming from downtown Minneapolis, plan for about a 15-minute drive. It's absolutely worth the trip.
  • 🍽️
Guest Appreciation Menu: The $45 per person 3-course dinner is a genuinely great deal when you factor in the quality of food you're getting. You're walking away with a solid appetizer, a proper entree, and a dessert that could've been its own night out. Order any of that individually at a normal steakhouse and the bill starts looking very different very fast. This is not a budget menu where they cut corners — the food felt like what you'd expect to pay significantly more for.

The Verdict: 8.5/10 — A New Top Date Night Spot in the Twin Cities

We're giving Boketto Steakhouse a solid 8.5 out of 10. The dark and moody atmosphere is excellent for a date night, the Espresso Martinis were perfectly balanced, and both entrees absolutely delivered. If you're looking for a special occasion dinner spot in the Twin Cities that feels like a real night out, Boketto is the move. Trust us, you're gonna want to bookmark this one.
