September in Minneapolis: Football, Oktoberfest, and Food Festivals!
🏈Vikings Football
Vikings vs Falcons
September 14th at 7:20 PM
US Bank Stadium
Vikings vs Bengals
September 21st at 12 PM
US Bank Stadium
We've been waiting for the Vikings season since, well, since the last Vikings season ended. We caught the preseason game against the Patriots at US Bank Stadium, which was cool, but we're absolutely dying to experience our first real Vikings regular season game. There's something about fall football in Minneapolis that seems electric.
The Sunday afternoon game against the Bengals is looking like our move for our first real game day experience. Cindy's already planning her game day outfit (purple everything, of course), and I'm already strategizing our pre-game/post-game food situation.
🍺Oktoberfest Season: Because Who Doesn't Love Good Beer?
Forgotten Star Brewing - September 19-21
The Details: This is the dog-friendly Oktoberfest we've been waiting for! VIP tickets are $25 (or $30 at the door starting 4 PM on Friday), and honestly, the deal is pretty solid. You get cover for Friday, a stein, one fill, and $2 off drinks all weekend.
Why we're looking forward to it: Ernie gets to come, we love trying local Minneapolis breweries, and it's a whole weekend affair. We're probably hitting up Friday night for the kickoff vibes, then maybe circling back Saturday for round two if we're up for it.
Fat Pants Brewing - September 20th
When: All day starting at 11 AM
Where: 8335 Crystal View Rd, Eden Prairie
Live Music: Mark Miller Band from 7-10 PM
This one's in Eden Prairie, which gives us a perfect excuse to explore outside the city for the day. Starting at 11 AM means we can make this a whole Saturday adventure, good beer, live music, and probably way too much bratwurst. Live music is always a big plus, so we'll probably stick around to check out the Mark Miller Band from 7-10 PM.
🎭Entertainment & Concerts
Comedy Night: Bert Kreischer Live
When: September 20th at 7 PM
Where: Grand Casino Arena, Saint Paul
There's nothing like live comedy, especially when it's someone who can tell stories like Bert does. Even if we don't make it this time, anyone who loves stand up comedy in Minneapolis should seriously consider checking this out.
Keith Urban
When: September 26th at 7 PM
Where: Grand Casino Arena
This one's got both our names on it. We're both pretty excited about this show since it's been forever since we've been to a good country concert. We've both never had the chance to see Keith Urban, so this is definitely on our radar for concerts this month.
Marc E Bassy
When: September 27th at 8 PM
Where: Amsterdam Bar and Hall
This one's totally Cindy's pick, and she always loves a good throwback. Marc E Bassy is going to bring those nostalgic vibes, and Amsterdam Bar and Hall is such a cool venue for this kind of show.
🍜Food Festival Alert: MinnesoThai Street Food Festival
When
September 27-28
Friday: 11 AM - 8 PM
Saturday: 11 AM - 6 PM
More Info
Facebook PageThis is probably the event I'm most excited about, and that's saying something. We've been talking about hitting up more food festivals since Taste of Minnesota was such a hit, and Thai street food? Seriously, it doesn't get much better than this.
We're definitely planning to hit this up Saturday afternoon, probably around 1 PM when we can really take our time and sample everything.
